Kaizen Gaming has launched its Betano brand in Ghana, marking the igaming group’s 20th regulated market launch and its first new market entry of 2026.
The launch was formally marked at an event in Accra, attended by Kaizen Gaming executives, including George Skarlatos, Director of business development; Daniel Lamberti, Senior Business Development Advisor; and Joseph Owusu Badu, Country Manager for Ghana.
In attendance was Emmanuel Siisi Quainoo, Acting Commissioner of the Gaming Commission of Ghana.
“Ghana is a market with strong long-term potential, an increasingly tech-oriented population, and a clear commitment to building a structured and transparent regulatory environment,” said Skarlatos.
“Through our strong local partnerships, and with responsibility fully embedded across our technology, processes and operations, we are fully aligned with Ghana’s regulatory framework to support a safe, well-functioning and trusted experience for all players from day one.”
Kaizen Gaming said Ghana was selected due to its growing digital adoption and regulatory framework, positioning the West African jurisdiction as a long-term growth market prospect.
Ghana is recognised as a pioneering market of African gambling, having established its online gambling regime in 2006.
The Gaming Act and Companies Act of Ghana requires all gambling licences to establish a ‘local office’ to file business accounts and maintain customer registries with the Gaming Commission of Ghana (GCG).
Quainoo added: “We welcome Betano’s entry into Ghana. Ensuring high standards are met by all operators is crucial in safeguarding player protection and maintaining market integrity.
“Kaizen Gaming and Betano show clear commitment to these principles, and we look forward to their continued cooperation and focus on upholding safe operations for all.”
Betano’s expansion after a successful 2025
It comes just days after Betano was revealed as the most downloaded sports app in Brazil – a market where it has seen much success, including becoming the sponsor of Flamengo FC.
The app has also thrived in European markets. It has established a sponsorship agreement with Denmark’s elite footballing league 3F Superliga and is also the official partner of Germany’s top side Bayern Munich.
The Ghana launch followed a year of international expansion for Kaizen Gaming. In 2025, the company was named Operator of the Year for a second consecutive year at both the SBC Awards and the EGR Operator Awards.
It also announced a global partnership with FIFA linked to the FIFA Club World Cup 2025, alongside other sponsorship agreements with football clubs including Aston Villa, FC Porto, Sporting CP, Benfica and River Plate.
Kaizen Gaming operates the Betano brand across multiple markets in Europe, the Americas and Africa, and employs more than 3,000 staff worldwide.
