Mobile-first sportsbook BetBull has informed customers that it will cease all operations on Sunday 3 July 2022.
The management of BetBull did not provide any information regarding the sportsbook’s closure, as it confirmed that it had begun to withdraw customer accounts.
The decision sees BetBull no longer accept customer registration, as “from 24/06/2022 (midnight), until 03/07/2022, the only activity users will be able to conduct on BetBull will be withdrawals.”
BetBull’s website redirects to an FAQs page outlining the procedure for customers to withdraw existing funds and close their accounts.
Launched in 2015, BetBull was founded by igaming entrepreneur Sadok Kohen as a proprietary built mobile-first sportsbook, that aimed to become a sportsbook challenger brand in the UK and other regulated European markets.
Maintaining a UK Gambling Commission (UKGC) licence, BetBull’s headquarters were located in London, supported by a tech and engineering hub in Kyiv, Ukraine.
Company developments saw BetBull strike an early US joint-venture partnership with casino operator Wynn Resorts in 2018, following the federal repeal of PASPA.
The JV partnership would see Wynn and BetBull launch the Wynn Interactive division, led by Sadok Kohen as President and CPO.
In the close of 2020, Wynn Resorts increased its shareholding in BetBull to 71%, as the US operator turbocharged its plans to launch Wynn Interactive in nine US wagering states.
“BetBull has made the difficult decision to close its operations on 03/07/2022.”
“BetBull will soon cease all gambling activity, however customers will be able to log into their accounts until 03/07/2022 to withdraw their funds as normal. The BetBull Customer Support team will process any manual withdrawals after that date. Customers can contact BetBull Customer Support via email [email protected].”
