This Saturday saw Betway celebrate its 4,000th individual sponsorship of UK and Irish horse racing fixtures.
The milestone event was marked by the online bookmaker sponsoring its self-branded “Betway 4000 Race Sponsorship” handicap at the Wolverhampton Racecourse at 7.15 PM.
The race featured Betway closing the final leg of its free-to-play racing game ‘4 To Win’, that featured a bonus jackpot of £14,000 to be shared by the winners of the Wolverhampton race.
Betway began its UK and Ireland racing journey, back in 2015, as the bookmaker sponsored its first race at South Wales’ Ffos Las Racecourse.
Since 2015, the Super Group owned operator has grown its racing sponsorship portfolio to include 29 different racecourses, supporting all levels of the sport.
Of distinction, Betway maintains the grade-1 sponsorships of the Betway Queen Mother Champion Chase, ‘Official Betting Partner’ of the Grand National Festival and category sponsor of three divisions in the All-Weather Championships
This November, Betway hit another landmark as the company-sponsored its 1,000th race at Newcastle, the single most at any one racecourse by a UK bookmaker.
“What a fantastic milestone to achieve!” said Anthony Werkman, CEO of Betway – “We are incredibly proud to have continuously supported British horse racing since our first race sponsorship at Ffos Las in January 2015.
“We wish to extend our thanks to all of the racecourses and organisations who have been fantastic partners and have enabled us to hit this truly exceptional landmark.”
