Betway has strengthened its marketing and branding in the German sports betting space, striking a deal with Bundesliga club VfB Stuttgart.
As part of the three-year agreement, Betway will gain branding on the LED screens and cam carpets at the VfB Stuttgart stadium, the 60,000-seat Mercedes-Benz Arena.
Additionally, the Malta-based bookmaker will also secure activation rights as part of the deal, whilst also demonstrating its ‘ever-growing commitment to supporting the best sporting events around the world’.
“VfB Stuttgart are one of Germany’s most successful football clubs and we’re very proud to become their premium partner on an initial three-year deal,” said Anthony Werkman, Betway CEO.
“This agreement reflects our ambitions as a brand, as the Bundesliga is recognised around the world as one of the biggest football leagues. We’re delighted to have further association with it for Betway, a brand that is synonymous with the highest-profile sports and teams around the globe.
“Stuttgart finished in the top half of the Bundesliga last season and we’re looking forward to working with the club as they strive for further success in Germany’s top flight.”
Stuttgart represents the latest addition to Betway’s international portfolio of sports sponsorships, following a deal struck with fellow Bundesliga clubs Eintracht Frankfurt FC earlier this week and Schalke 04 last month, which also saw the operator gain instadia branding and marketing assets.
Outside of football, the firm has also developed an extensive presence in tennis, inking deals with the Hamburg Open, Nordea Open, Miami Open, Noventi Open and Mercedes Cup tournaments.
“We’re really excited to be growing our relationship with VfB Stuttgart and are thrilled to become their exclusive premium partner,” added Maik Brodowski, Betway’s Head of Marketing for Germany.
“The team’s potential is there for all to see having finished in the top half of the Bundesliga last season following their promotion.
“We look forward to sharing the thrill and connecting with the loyal fanbase through various activations over the next few years.”
Thomas Hitzlsperger, VfB Stuttgart Chairman of the Board of Management, commented: “Our partnership has proven successful for both sides, even in a challenging time for soccer.
“We are therefore very pleased that Betway is expanding its commitment to VfB and look forward to a long-term collaboration.”
