ComeOn has become the first wagering partner of the Canadian Premier League (CPL) – Canada’s highest-ranking professional soccer organisation.
From the 2021 season, the ComeOn brand will be displayed across all CPL club jerseys as the Malta-based operator serves as the “official sports betting and online casino partner of the Canadian Premier League”.
As a principal partner, ComeOn will be further promoted on CPL matchday broadcasts and streamed coast-to-coast by global football app OneSoccer – the CPL’s digital media partner.
“We are proud and excited to be partnering with the Canadian Premier League,” said Berkay Reyhan, Chief Commercial Officer at ComeOn Group.
“With the calibre of Canadian soccer talent coming through, we have no doubts that the league is going to continue to grow and attract fans not only in Canada but around the world.
“Our passion for online entertainment lends itself perfectly to creating fun and engaging experiences for the fans; from match predictors to in-stadium experiences, our goal is to improve the experience for every Canadian Premier League fan!”
The CPL secured its wagering partnership with ComeOn following this week’s Ottawa Senate approval of Bill C-218 – the ‘Safe and Regulated Sports Betting Act’ clearing all necessary legislative reviews.
Canadian observers are now waiting for the House of Commons to approve Bill C-218’s Royal Assent forcing Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to establish a date for the bill to be federally enforced.
“We are excited to have a partner in the emerging industry of sports betting,” said David Clanachan, CPL Commissioner. “We feel this is the next innovative step to help drive fan engagement and participation with our CPL matches. Offering interactive and engaging updates match to match is a great opportunity for fans to stay involved.”
