Fitzdares has planted its flag in the Canadian market after being granted an iGaming Operator Registration from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO).
The bookmaker was one of the first to have its registration approved by the AGCO and expects to go live in the summer, subject to the execution of an Operating Agreement with iGaming Ontario and final regulatory approvals.
“We are truly excited to be launching the Fitzdares experience in Ontario in the coming months,” commented William Woodhams, Fitzdares CEO.
“Receiving our AGCO license is a landmark achievement for the business. There will be huge competition in this newly-regulated market, but we feel our more premium and customer-focused experience will be an ideal fit.
“Work is very much underway to ensure that we deliver on our promise – in style. I would like to thank the teams at both the AGCO and iGaming Ontario for supporting us with our application and preparations for launch.”
The new licence marks a new milestone for the bookmaker as it plans to bring its “slick experience and personal touch to the regulated Canadian market”.
Fitzdares’ first North American launch will be complemented by its members’ club, The Fitzdares Club, which will open its doors in Toronto next year.
The bookmaker has already opened up members’ clubs in Mayfair and Gloucestershire, an 18-hole golf course as well as a number of pop up clubs at UK racecourses.
Elsewhere, the firm has expanded its service agreement with principal technology provider FSB Tech to collaborate on a “bespoke, localized product for Ontario – which will ensure that they can focus on delivering their trademark premium service to Ontarians”.
