Flutter Entertainment has confirmed the departure of Victor Corcoran as Chief Executive of Paddy Power.
Corcoran’s exit from the role comes as Flutter announces internal changes to its UK-&-IRE division, which has seen brand CEOs become Chief Commercial Officers (CCOs).
The CCOs will be charged with overseeing the commercial performance of the FTSE100 firm’s home market brands.
Former Retail MD Dave Newton has been confirmed as Corcoran’s successor, who will lead Paddy Power’s online and retail units as new Brand CCO.
The brother of former Group CEO Breon Corcoran, Corocan joined Paddy Power in 2018, overseeing the Irish bookmaker’s technical integration with Betfair’s sports betting platform and systems.
This integration formed a key directive of Paddy Power and Betfair’s transformative £4 billion merger that established Flutter Entertainment in 2019.
Most recently, Corcoran is further credited for revitalising Paddy Power’s performance, which had dragged following Flutter’s subsequent merger with The Stars Group Inc which incorporated the Sky Bet and PokerStars brands.
Flutter has made no formal comment on Corcoran’s departure, as the former CEO has chosen not to disclose his future affairs.
