Gaming Innovation Group (GiG) has secured an agreement with prominent Argentine gaming firm Grupo Slots, powering the launch of the latter’s online sports betting and casino operations.
Designed using GiG’s front-end framework, Grupo Slot’s Jugadon.bet.ar web-based service will target bettors in Buenos Aires. The duo received approval from the city’s gambling authorities on 9 March 2021, obtaining one of seven licences available on 8 April.
GiG first partnered with Grupo Slots on 10 November 2020 under the terms of a supplier agreement which would see the gaming technology company provide a full online turnkey solution.
This includes the firm’s proprietary sportsbook and igaming platforms, frontend development services and the GiG Logic CMS, data platform and rules engine.
Juan Ignacio Torres, General Manager for Grupo Slots, said “Today we had set a new milestone in the history of Grupo Slots because the beginning of Jugadon in the City of Buenos Aires is a great leap forward that enhances the wide experience of the company in the gambling industry.
“We built a great team with GIG, and have developed a solid and safe platform that matches regulators specifications as well as Buenos Aires Citys’ market requirements. We want to thank our team for their outstanding work over the last months that allowed us to successfully reach this goal.”
For GIG, the launch of Jugadon.bet.ar marks its latest entry into a new market, incorporating Buenos Aires and the wider Argentine market into the ‘growing list’ of licenced jurisdictions where its iGaming platform is offered, which the group details democrats ‘an active presence in regulated Latin America’.
Recent developments saw the company receive approval from Sweden’s Financial Supervisory Authority to list SEK 450 million (€45m) of senior corporate bonds on the Stockholm Nasdaq on 8 December.
Although signing multiple technology supply deals with companies such as Grupo Slots, GiG’s Media Services unit has been enjoying particular success, generating peak revenues of €11.5 million and an EBITDA of €5 million in the company’s Q3 trading report.
Commenting on GiG’s launch in Argentina, Richard Brown, the company’s CEO, said “I am excited to have gone live in the city of Buenos Aires with a prominent brand like Grupo Slots.
“Buenos Aires is a dynamic market, set to be one of the largest within Argentina with significant growth potential in the interactive space driven by regulation and growth of a digital online gaming penetration.
“I am extremely proud to be one of the early movers entering this market and look forward to growing our presence within the region.”
