Esports Technologies Inc has continued its strategic expansion by announcing the opening of a ‘state-of-the-art’ office in Malta, supporting the Nasdaq group’s European growth plans.
The Malta office will house the majority of Esports Technologies’ staff that directly support its European igaming operations and work closely with the Esports Technologies technology hub located in Dublin.
The firm’s new Malta office is scheduled to be fully operational from 15 November, supporting Esports Technologies’ objectives to expand within the regulated markets of the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Denmark, Ireland and the Netherlands.
“This move will help accelerate the company’s growth strategy in Europe, which has an estimated esports audience of 92 million,” read a statement from the firm.
One of igaming’s newest ventures, Esports Technologies floated on the Global Nasdaq Exchange last April, securing a market cap of $285 million.
The company followed its US IPO with the announcement this October that it had reached definitive terms to acquire the B2C igaming portfolio of Aspire Global for $76 million.
The agreement will see Esports Technologies take over Karamba, Dansk777, Hopa, Griffon Casino, GenerationVIP and BetTarget, as well as assume full ownership of the portfolio’s 1.25 million deposited customers.
Group CEO Aaron Speach commented on developments, saying: “Europe’s esports engagement is on a steep growth trajectory, and we foresee tremendous growth in its esports wagering market.
“With its educated and talented workforce, strong tech infrastructure, and business-friendly environment, Malta offers the ideal location for us to create new opportunities across Europe. We look forward to providing a work setting designed to foster meaningful collaboration, increase productivity and spark creativity.”
