Kambi strikes yet another 2026 deal as it looks to recover from last year’s slump

Kambi Group has expanded its US footprint after signing a multi-year sportsbook agreement with the Mandan, Hidatsa and Arikara Nation (MHA Nation) to power on-property sports betting at 4 Bears Casino and Lodge.

The partnership sees Stockholm-listed Kambi replace the casino’s existing third-party supplier with its retail sportsbook technology, including a full suite of self-service kiosks, over-the-counter betting terminals and Bring-Your-Own-Device (BYOD) functionality. It marks the firm’s presence in its 27th US state.

Located in New Town, North Dakota, 4 Bears Casino and Lodge serves as the MHA Nation’s flagship gaming and entertainment destination.

Under the deal, guests will gain access to Kambi’s on-property sports betting solution designed to provide a streamlined retail betting experience.

The agreement also includes scope for future on-premise mobile sports betting and the potential for statewide mobile betting, subject to regulatory approval.

The announcement comes as 4 Bears Casino and Lodge continues to expand its facilities. The property recently completed construction of a new events centre and is nearing completion of a new hotel tower aimed at increasing guest capacity.

The MHA Nation is also progressing plans to develop a second property – Son of Star Casino – which could create additional long-term opportunities for sportsbook deployment across its gaming portfolio.

“We are delighted to partner with Kambi as we introduce a first-class sports betting experience for our guests,” said Patrick Packineau, 4 Bears Casino and Lodge General Manager.

“With continued enhancements at 4 Bears Casino and Lodge, Kambi’s proven technology and commitment to tribal operators made them the ideal partner.

“We look forward to working with them as we continue to grow our gaming and entertainment offerings.”

Kambi’s busy start to 2026

Kambi has also been on somewhat of an expansion, even in recent weeks. So far this year, the firm has struck deals with the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG), industry newcomer SuomiVeto, ComeOn Group and Mexico’s PickWin.

Despite its mass recent activity, the firm reported an 8.2% decrease in full-year revenue for 2025 last week, slipping from €176.4m (£151.1m) to €162m. Full-year profit also dropped notably from €18.8m to €8.1m.

However, CEO Werner Becher expressed confidence in the direction in which the business is headed, while praising the ‘robustness’ of the company.

On Kambi’s new MHA Nation deal, he commented: “We are proud to partner with the MHA Nation and 4 Bears Casino and Lodge to bring world-class sports betting experiences to the state of North Dakota.

“The MHA Nation is well positioned to elevate its entertainment offering across the state, and this agreement marks another important step in expanding regulated sports betting across tribal gaming.”
