Midnite appoints ex-LiveScore exec as Vice President of Product

UK-based sportsbook and casino operator Midnite has appointed Sam Talbot as Vice President of Product as it continues its pursuit of Tier 1 status in global markets.

Talbot brings more than 15 years of experience in product leadership roles across digital and consumer-facing platforms.

He joins from LiveScore Group, where he served as Chief Product Officer, leading product strategy and development across high-traffic sports and entertainment products to push engagement and growth.

He also co-founded consultancy firm The iGaming Collective and has previously held key roles at industry giants including Sky Betting & Gaming and bet365.

Talbot remarked: “Midnite’s commitment to in-house technology and genuine product innovation really stood out to me. This is a team that cares deeply about the player experience and moves quickly to deliver it.

“I’m excited to be joining at such an important stage of growth and to help build products that set new standards in the industry.”

New hire for Midnite’s disruption mission

Talbot joins the London-headquartered company just weeks after it raised a $35m Series C funding round led by Raine Partners IV

The business also secured a $100m credit facility in October 2025 and is ramping up expansion plans.

Just over a decade after it was founded by Nick Wright and Daniel Qu, its team is now over 150 strong.

A key focus of Midnite’s most recent investment is to scale its product and engineering capabilities as it pursues its Tier 1 ambitions.

The company develops its entire platform in-house, with all engineering teams based in the UK. New product launches have been a key focus for Midnite in recent years, such as an expansion of horse racing and casino products back in 2023.

Talbot also joins the company at the start of what will likely be a hugely challenging year for UK betting, with tax raises on online gambling predicted to have a big impact on operator budgets – whether for marketing, product development and anything in between.

His hiring by Midnite suggests that the challenger brand has no intention of ditching its product investment and development plans, however.

What will become of its marketing activity, such as its sponsorship arrangements in snooker and football, is a different story.

“Midnite is product obsessed, so bringing Sam on board as VP of Product felt like a completely natural fit,” said Wright.

“He shares our DNA when it comes to building for players first, and he brings the leadership and experience we need as we scale.

“Our vision is to become a tier-1, market-leading, product-led operator, and that means continuing to raise the bar for what the betting and gaming experience should feel like. Sam will play a central role in shaping that future.

“With the backing we’ve secured and the team we’re building, there’s a huge amount to come from Midnite this year.”
