Inplay Matrix has launched an AI feature called Uncle Boris, designed to be a sports betting companion to boost player engagement.
Uncle Boris is described as ‘not just an average chatbot, he’s a smart, personality-driven tipster and betting companion designed to keep your players informed, entertained, and active.’
The product boasts features such as real-time stats, trends, and analysis, with pre-match insights, trend breakdowns and sharp opinions all available to help players make influenced betting decisions.
Sam Ng, Product Director of Inplay Matrix, said: “Beyond standard information such as stats and news, Uncle Boris adds his own analytical insights and opinions, making his tips more valuable in helping users make informed decisions. Unlike most AI bots on the market, which are typically robotic in engagement and limited to providing only basic information when asked.”
Uncle Boris has the flexibility to cater to both newer and more experienced bettors; for the former, the tool acts as a friendly face, introducing the basics of betting in an easy-to-digest way, for the latter Uncle Boris can switch into analyst mode, giving more in-depth stats to help provide sophisticated tips.
The adjustment is done as soon as the player registers. Bettors can choose their experience level which triggers Uncle Boris to go into the relevant mode depending on the player’s choice.
Ng added: “Uncle Boris instantly adapts to the selected skill level by adjusting his tone, language, and the depth of information to match the player’s knowledge.
Unlike a generic bot, Uncle Boris evolves with the user by starting out as a friendly tutor for new players and as their skills grow, Boris will transform into a trusted analyst for experienced bettors.”
InPlay Matrix developed Uncle Boris to help boost player engagement rates among its operator partners. So the theory goes, the more confident a player feels, the more likely they are to remain on platform.
It therefore aims to lead to higher retention, deeper engagement and measurable impact on turnover for operators.
