Club 3000 Bingo, the UK’s largest independent bingo operator, has announced that it will open its newest club in Hunslet, Leeds, at the end of this year.
The new Club, a former Mecca Bingo, is seeing a significant investment, believed to be around £3 million, as Club 3000 Bingo ramps up its commitment to growth and investment across the UK. The opening of the Leeds Hunslet branch will soon be followed by the opening of its new Edinburgh bingo venue in January 2025.
The two new locations will increase Club 3000’s total to 25, highlighting an important step in the company’s growth. This ambitious plan includes an impressive £11 million investment, which shows its belief in bingo’s ongoing popularity and optimism about the industry’s future.
25 After 25
The opening of Club 3000 Bingo Leeds, the company’s 25th bingo venue, marks a double milestone for Club 3000, celebrating its 25th birthday this year. Club 3000 is also pouring resources into enhancing

The Manchester club has served bingo to the local community for nearly 25 years. Now, it is being transformed with modern amenities and updated interiors, all while keeping the charm that has made it a much-loved local institution.
The renovation is being carried out in carefully planned stages to ensure minimal disruption to regular customers, with the grand reveal of the revamped club scheduled for November, just in time to coincide with its 25th anniversary. The celebration promises to be a memorable event as the popular bingo club celebrates this special milestone in style.
Brian Fraser, the founder of Club 3000 Bingo, said of the Leeds opening:
“We are thrilled to expand our portfolio to 25 clubs and bring the Club 3000 Bingo brand to Leeds. This is a fantastic community and venue, and we look forward to offering our customers an exceptional bingo experience in a first-class, modern, and secure environment. We promise something special for both regular bingo lovers and new customers alike.”
Locals Excited By Club 3000 Bingo Leeds Opening
BingoDaily has been in touch with some of Mecca Bingo Hunslet’s former patrons, and there is, without doubt, excitement about the new takeover. This followed the great sadness and lamentation when news broke that it was closing. At the time, one long-standing customer who wished to remain anonymous wrote to Bingo Daily saying:
“As far as Mecca Leeds Hunslet goes, I will miss them all terribly, and the building. I know many bingo enthusiasts like the converted cinema (usually Gaumount) but I was always a fan of the new builds. The club since around 2015 only had three good profitable days a week, Friday Sunday and Wednesday nights. Thursday used to be a good night there but the three Leeds clubs started a price war, for some reason, and Hunslet being a shall we say being in a lesser affluent part of Leeds, suffered terribly.”
“To be honest I was a tad worried pre-pandemic about Hunslet. The club is owned, not leased, and a compulsory purchase was put on it for the building of HS2. That has now been scrapped and the only reason it has stayed open as long is because they got a bit of a kickback (so I understand) for the messing about.”
“I have a job where I can sneak off in an afternoon for a session of bingo and numbers were definitely dwindling. At one point in 2016, admissions were at 3500 per week. Break-even for that cavernous place was 2000. They had dropped to 1800 just before the pandemic hit.”
“Convinced this will go well”
The long-time UK bingo enthusiast recently told BingoDaily of the bright future Club 3000 Bingo had in store for the Leeds venue:
“All the regular patrons I have spoken to will be going back, along with some new ones. Convinced this will go well.”
