It’s not often that you hear the phrase Leicester is the place to be, (no offence Leicesterians), but when it comes to winning big at bingo, Leicester appears to be this moment’s place to be after two big jackpot wins in a matter of just three weeks.
The most recent lucky dabber scooped the life-changing jackpot of £50,000 on 22nd February, playing on the much-loved National Bingo Game. The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, is known to be a regular Sunday night visitor to the club and was playing with her family and friends.
Sarah Gardner, the Assistant Manager at the popular bingo club, was on duty on the night and described the electric atmosphere in the club:
“Although we’ve had big winners before, it’s the first time I’ve personally witnessed someone win a prize of £50,000. It was a busy Sunday evening and when I confirmed the win, there was so much excitement, with confetti canons and everyone cheering. The winner was so overwhelmed, she started crying when she realised how much she had won. She rang her husband to tell him the good news, but I’m not sure she believed it herself!”
The big win comes just weeks after another Mecca Leicester customer beat players nationwide to claim the ‘full house’ prize of £50,000 on Mecca’s £100k Game.
