A Rosehill bingo player was left speechless after taking home a whopping £50,000 National Bingo Game jackpot at Mecca Bingo Rosehill.
The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, is a long-standing member of the club on Bishopsford Road and has been visiting the venue for several years. She was playing bingo with friends using one of Mecca’s Max electronic tablets when she claimed a full house.
Biggest Win in the Venue For a While
Celebrations quickly followed as it became clear the full house had been completed within the first 16 numbers called, triggering the £50,000 National Bingo Game jackpot. The venue erupted into applause as customers and staff realised the scale of the win.
Wayne Crittenden, general manager at Mecca Bingo Rosehill, described the moment as one of the most memorable in the club’s recent history.
“It was an amazing evening. We were all completely stunned – it’s the biggest win in our venue for a while. The caller, Jess, has been with us for over a decade but had never given away a jackpot that large before. The winner couldn’t believe it when the realisation dawned that she had called Full House quickly enough to win the £50k.”
He added that the popular bingo club’s reaction reflected bingo’s strong sense of community.
“It took a moment for it to sink in, but the whole club celebrated together as a community – clapping and cheering. The atmosphere was brilliant and we even fired off a confetti cannon for her to mark the occasion!”
