It was already a party atmosphere at Mecca Bingo Hamilton when a popular regular called ‘House’ playing the National Bingo Game and won the massive jackpot prize of £50,000.
With two long-standing members Bobby McCallum and Billy Hampton both celebrating their 65th birthdays with club regulars and friends at Mecca Bingo Hamilton, there was a real party mood amongst the crowd.
Then, when it became apparent that another club regular, who wishes to remain anonymous, had scooped the life-changing jackpot prize of £50,000, the club simply erupted.
The General Manager of Mecca Bingo Hamilton, Duncan Anderson, told the local press:
“It was already a special night as we were celebrating Billy and Bobby’s big birthdays.
“But when one of our regular players became a big jackpot winner, it really made the whole weekend. The atmosphere in the club for the rest of the night was electric.
“We’re ecstatic for them.”
Mecca’s Turn of Fortunes?
In what can be described as a difficult period for Mecca Bingo, it is a welcome relief to report some positive bingo news for them.
Having closed seven clubs on February 26th, Mecca recently saw its long-standing Operations Director, John Dyson, depart.
Until the Hamilton win, no Mecca Bingo had claimed a National Bingo Game Jackpot winner in 2023. The last £50,000 National Bingo Game Jackpot winner was at the Chandler’s Wharf venue on New Year’s Eve.
Since the Hamilton win, there has been just one other National Bingo Game Jackpot Winner, at Mecca Bingo Bolton (full details yet to be revealed).
So, with two in two and an exciting new wedding package being trialed, are we seeing a turnaround in Mecca Bingo‘s fortunes?
