The generous giveaway comes after a long-time Mecca regular scooped the National Bingo Game’s full £50,000 jackpot on Saturday, 27th September at the Clough Road venue.
The anonymous winner claimed the top prize after calling “full house” within the first 16 numbers on a traditional paper ticket — the exact requirement needed to trigger the £50k windfall.
Caller Sophie Marriott, who announced the winning call, said the atmosphere in the popular bingo club was unforgettable:
“The winner was marking off the numbers on a paper ticket and when she shouted out to claim on the sixteenth number, my heart was going ten to the dozen. We checked her ticket and when I confirmed it was correct, the room was filled with excitement. I was so thrilled for her, I actually felt quite emotional. Everyone was clapping, it was beautiful.”

The lucky winner had been enjoying a night out with friends and stepped outside to call her husband immediately after.
