A regular player at Mecca Bingo Dagenham is celebrating a life-changing win after scooping the £50,000 National Bingo Game jackpot last month.
The jubilant winner — who has chosen to remain anonymous — landed the top prize while playing at the popular bingo club on Dagenham Leisure Park. The jackpot was triggered after she called “full house” within the first 16 numbers, the requirement for securing the National Bingo Game’s highest reward.
Caller Thought It Was Another False Alarm
Michelle Howes, who was calling the numbers on the night, said the atmosphere was already tense due to a false claim earlier in the session.
“It was a busy night with over 300 people playing. We’d had an incorrect claim, with a customer mistakenly shouting ‘house’ on 14 numbers, so we were already on edge, and then I called one more number and I saw the winning claim come in! The customer looked so shocked and everyone was applauding. When I went over to congratulate her, she was already on the phone to her family to share the good news.”
Michelle, who has been with Mecca Dagenham for 17 years, only began calling last year — making this her biggest jackpot announcement to date.
