New Swindon Bingo Hall Gets Royal-ish Opening

By | December 9, 2024

Swindon in Wiltshire has a modest but noteworthy connection to the British royal family. Although it may not be a frequent destination for royal visits, the town has occasionally hosted members of the royal family.

Last week, Shipleys the UK bingo and slots company, celebrated the opening of its fourth bingo and gambling slot machine parlour in Swindon town centre. Helping launch the new bingo and slots outlet was none other than Prince William and Princess Kate – well, at least some Wills and Kate lookalikes.

New customers were treated to food, baloons and a chance to see the brand spanking new facilities including live online bingo screens.

Shipleys area manager Gareth Lewis said of the new venue:

“It’s a place people can come and chat and socialise and put the social back into bingo. We have lunch, snacks and refreshments and it’s somewhere warm that people can come everyday and not have to fork out tonnes on electric. We’re putting something back into the town.

“It’s affordable, they can spend a tenner and win prize money, everything is with the customers in mind. When it is no longer fun we have a policy to look after customers. There is no alcohol allowed on site at all and we do not serve alcohol. We focus on putting the customer experience first.”
