Two casinos recently opened in New York and Lousiana, respectively. Two more casinos will be opening within the next month in a different section in New York and Virginia, respectively.
Altogether there will be four new casinos to play blackjack in three states over the next month or so.
Casinos around the country are different than what you’ll find in Las Vegas. Everything from gaming to dining and entertainment is different.
Each of these properties will offer guests a different experience and a variety of blackjack games. Let’s take a look at what to expect from these new casinos.
New Casinos Open
There are a couple of new casinos that recently opened in familiar locations. Both offer very different ways to enjoy a casino.
One is a full-service casino resort that offers a traditional visit to a casino. The other is small and offers some games that should hold over casino gamblers between visits to a full-service property.
Horseshoe Lake Charles
The former Isle of Capri Hotel and Casino has been refreshed and rebranded by Caesars after losing during the Covid-19 pandemic. Horseshoe Lake Charles is a full-service Caesars Rewards property.
The casino floor at Horseshoe Lake Charles has 1,000 slot machines, 82 table games, an official WSOP Poker Room, and an all-new Caesars Sportsbook.
The hotel has various dining options and 253 hotel rooms. In addition to a Gordon Ramsay restaurant, Horseshoe Lake Charles also has eateries such as Brews Brothers, Seven Noodle Bar, and Slice Pizzeria and Pasta.
One of the best perks of this casino is that it’s linked to Caesars Rewards. Spending money at this property can earn guests benefits and perks that can be used in Las Vegas, Atlantic City, and around the US.
It’s great to have full-service casinos around the country. These allow gamblers to get as close to the touristy casino markets without going too far from home.
Lakeside Entertainment
Lakeside Entertainment is located in Union Springs, NY. The class II casino is near the Finger Lakes and just over an hour away from Syracuse.
The Cayuga Nation nation casino was first built in 2004. The new casino has been updated to offer a more modern atmosphere.
It’s important to note that a Class II casino isn’t a traditional gaming experience. This is not a full-service Las Vegas-style casino.
For starters, this isn’t a 24-hour casino. Lakeside Entertainment is open from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. from Sunday to Thursday. The casino has longer hours from 10:00 a.m. to Midnight on Friday and Saturday.
Class II casinos offer bingo and video gaming machines that are similar to slots. This is the type of casino for players looking for a place to gamble between visits to larger full-service properties.
This small casino has only 86 machines. Blackjack players will be able to play an electronic version of 21.
Casinos Opening In Soon
These casinos will offer guests different gambling conditions. One of the properties is a smaller casino that is connected to a mall. The other is the first full-service and permanent casino in its state.
Resorts World Hudson Valley
Resorts World Hudson Valley will open on Dec. 28. New York gamblers may be familiar with the Resorts World name with properties in the Catskills and New York City.
This Resorts World casino is located about an hour north of New York City in Orange County at the Newburgh Mall.
“What we’re really trying to go for here is more of a locals hangout, almost like a Cheers vibe,” said earlier this year Meghan Taylor, vice president of government affairs and public relations for Genting Americas. “It’s a convenient play for those that are interested in gaming, but also a really cool and inviting environment for folks who just come and have a drink, relax, and catch up with friends.”
Resorts World Hudson Valley will feature 50,000 square feet of gaming and hospitality space. The casino will have 1,200 slot machines and a Resorts World Bet Sports Bar.
Blackjack players will be able to enjoy 21 at one of the electronic table games at the casino.
Rivers Casino Portsmouth
Rivers Casino Portsmouth will be the first full-service and permanent casino in Virginia when it opens to the public on Jan. 15, 2023.
This isn’t the first time Virginians could gamble close to home. Hard Rock’s temporary casino opened in Bristol this summer.
The 250,000-square-foot casino will feature 1,448 slot machines, 57 table games, and a sportsbook. There will also be a separate 24-table poker room.
The casino will offer table games such as Blackjack, Three-Card Poker, Craps, Roulette, and Baccarat. Like most modern casinos, Rivers will offer side bets and progressive jackpots at its table games.
There will be separate gaming spaces for high rollers. The main high-limit room will offer 85 slot machines and 11 table games. Additionally, there will be two private salons and a private table area.
Rivers will have four restaurants and a Starbucks. Admiral’s Steak and Seafood will be the fine dining option. Crossings Café, Mian, and Slice Pizzeria will offer casual dining.
