Caesars Entertainment has broadened the availability of its online horse race wagering services by entering West Virginia and Wyoming. The move brings the company’s pari-mutuel horse racing platform to a total of 10 states.
Through the Caesars Racebook app and an integrated feature within its sportsbook app, users in the new markets can now access horse racing betting online. The standalone Caesars Racebook app operates on the New York Racing Association’s (NYRA) NYRA Bets platform, which provides online wagering for tracks across the US
Caesars partnered with the NYRA in 2022 to create the Caesars Racebook platform. This collaboration allows users to place pari-mutuel bets on races from more than 250 tracks nationwide. “The launch of Caesars Racebook in West Virginia and Wyoming marks the next phase of our growth in online horse racing,” the company stated.
The expansion follows Caesars’ recent rollout of pari-mutuel wagering in Kentucky and Colorado in April 2025. Its current online horse racing presence now spans Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, New York, Ohio, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wyoming.
Shifts in US Horse Racing Platforms
The growth of Caesars’ horse racing services comes amid changes in the broader US horse racing sector. DraftKings recently announced it will transition its standalone DK Horse platform into its upgraded gaming app, now branded as DraftKings Racing. The new app has already launched in Delaware, New Mexico, and Rhode Island, with additional markets planned on a state-by-state basis. DK Horse will be discontinued in locations where the new platform is available. As of March 31, DraftKings offered online horse race wagering across 26 US jurisdictions.
FanDuel is also adjusting its horse racing strategy. The company revealed plans to gradually discontinue its linear TV network, FanDuel TV, over the next year and a half. This change will not affect its horse race wagering operations or non-horse racing content. FanDuel TV’s closure, set for 2027, will lead to a reduction of approximately 60% of the network’s staff by July 1.
Originally launched in 2022 as a rebrand of TVG—a network owned by Betfair, a subsidiary of FanDuel owner Flutter—FanDuel TV will cease operations five years after its debut. FanDuel emphasized that its online betting services, including FanDuel Racing and TVG accounts, will remain fully functional during the transition. “Investments required to distribute a linear television network failed to align with the operator’s long-term strategy,” noted FanDuel CEO Amy Howe and GM of Racing Andrew Moore.
Future of Online Horse Racing
Caesars’ expansion underlines the company’s commitment to online horse race wagering. The Caesars Racebook platform, with its pari-mutuel betting system, continues to provide a seamless way for users to place bets through both its dedicated app and the integrated sportsbook interface. By adding West Virginia and Wyoming, Caesars ensures broader access to its services while the wider industry sees major operators adjusting their offerings to optimize digital engagement.
