Namely, this premium provider has once again found a way to expand its data center reach in Atlantic City, NJ!

As announced, the developer managed to expand its footprint by including the addition of the latest Modular Data Center (MDC).

This means that the facility will feature even 30% more capacity from now on!

The Casino Reinvestment Development Authority (CRDA) gave the green light to the company to take this significant step, and the facility officially opened its doors on Tuesday, April 18th. Key stakeholders, politicians, Continent 8 customers, and members of the press in attendance were present on that occasion.

Of course, the ribbon-cutting ceremony, speeches, and a tour of the state-of-the-art facility were not left out this time either.

Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small, Senator Vince Polistina, and Assemblyman Don Guardian joined the ceremony.

Specific Design

The Atlantic City data center is located within the iconic Atlantic City Convention Center, and is also the only data center in the state that has been designed specifically for the online gambling industry.

It was opened for the first time in 2019, and in a very short time it became very popular among clients. Although primarily the capacity was smaller, as of recently the data center consists of 15,000 sq. ft with around 120 equipment racks.

Continent 8’s data center offers multi-state interconnection across the US and connects directly into a worldwide, private network of over 90 locations across four continents, including over 25 US states.

The facility is competent with DGE rules and is the only independent, approved facility that can house iGaming infrastructure outside of a licensed casino.

The new center delivers private, public, and hybrid cloud services, as well as the management of a customer’s own infrastructure.

Michael Tobin, Founder and CEO at Continent 8, said, “We are incredibly proud of the hub we have built in Atlantic City, creating an economic catalyst for South Jersey and establishing a data center that enables companies in iGaming and beyond to connect to a global network.”

With the additional capacity and expanded services, it is clear that the Atlantic City data center will continue to be a vital player in the online gambling industry and beyond.
