FanDuel is bringing a collaborative twist to holiday sports betting with the rollout of Pass The Leg, an in-app feature that enables multiple users to jointly assemble a single parlay. Introduced for the NFL’s Thanksgiving slate, the new tool marks the first time a major U.S. sportsbook has offered a multi-user parlay-building experience. The company has yet to confirm whether Pass The Leg will extend beyond Thanksgiving or appear in additional sports markets, but the launch reflects a growing appetite for more socially integrated wagering.
A New Way to Build Parlays Across Friends, Fans, and States
Pass The Leg is designed for groups who already swap picks in chats or during family gatherings. The feature allows participants to contribute one leg each, with groups able to craft parlays ranging from three to 25 legs. FanDuel also confirmed that users located in different states are eligible to contribute to the same shared parlay, adding a cross-border social angle to the experience.
Karol Corcoran, Managing Director of FanDuel Sportsbook, framed the feature as a reflection of how fans already consume sports together: “Pass The Leg is all about how our customers actually experience sports—together, sharing excitement, and creating memories around the games they love. We listened to how fans were already collaborating in group chats and family gatherings and built a feature that brings that natural social energy directly into their betting experience.”
Once a group parlay reaches the minimum number of legs, each user places their own wager individually. That means odds, stakes, and potential winnings remain unique to each participant. FanDuel is supporting the launch with a Pass The Leg Profit Boost, available once users opt in. Because Group Builds created by others don’t appear automatically in a user’s app tab, contributors must revisit the shared invitation link to continue adding or editing their own leg. The experience is exclusive to the mobile app, with no desktop functionality at launch.
FanDuel Expands Into Prediction Markets Amid Industry Tension
The release of Pass The Leg comes as FanDuel prepares to launch a separate in-app offering: FanDuel Predicts, expected to go live in December through a partnership with CME Group. The platform will provide event contract trading in jurisdictions without legalized online sports betting, though it will not extend to tribal lands. The offering will cover football, basketball, baseball, hockey, and select non-sports verticals such as economics and politics. CME Group will operate as a registered futures commission merchant under the NFA and CFTC.
This move into prediction markets has sparked friction within the gaming industry. FanDuel recently withdrew from the American Gaming Association following the organization’s opposition to event contract trading. DraftKings took a similar stance, exiting the AGA and withdrawing its Nevada license applications after regulatory warnings regarding prediction markets.
Available solely for Thanksgiving Day’s three NFL matchups, Pass The Leg represents FanDuel’s attempt to fuse betting with real-time group interaction, leveraging one of the year’s most communal sports moments to introduce a new kind of shared wagering experience.
