LeoVegas Group delivers another piece of news that will see the launch of the company’s offering even further thanks to the new approval from the regulator of another fast-growing market.
The brand has taken a step towards Sweden to further expand its global reach.
Ready to Bring Offering to Sweden!
LeoVegas Group is proud to say that the company has guaranteed as many as three licenses with a duration of five years each issued by the Swedish Gambling Authority.
With these B2B licenses, the brands will be able to offer their products in this ever-growing market and guarantee an even better position in the industry! The new license marks a major milestone for the brands, and it will be effective from the 1st of July when the deadline is scheduled.
Namely, the Swedish regulator asked all companies that want to stay on the market after the above-mentioned deadline to guarantee their license in time so that they can continue providing their services.
“Effective from July 1, 2023, under the Swedish Gambling Act, companies involved in the manufacture, provision, installation, or modification of game software used in online gaming are required to possess a license.”
LeoVegas Group is one of the first to add a green light from this regulator to its roster of licenses, and it has been issued to the Group’s game studio Blue Guru Games, and two other platforms.
New rules in Sweden have been issued with the aim of reducing the number of unlicensed and suspicious iGaming companies in the market in order to provide players with a safer and better environment.
More to Come?
Of course, this is just another one of the major moves that the company has made since the beginning of the year. Given that the year is only half over, there is likely more exciting news to come in 2023l
Gustaf Hagman, CEO of LeoVegas Group, stated that this is a key step for the brands and added: “We welcome the introduction of B2B licenses, a decisive step towards mitigating the impact of key gaming software being simultaneously provided to licensed operators and unlicensed operators targeting Swedish players. With the new regulations in force, it is now critical that authorities focus on those suppliers deliberately undermining the Swedish licensing system by facilitating unlicensed gaming.”
