Legal Developments: Arbitration Ordered in Lightning Roulette Case
Separately, a Nevada district court has ruled that Evolution’s legal dispute against Light & Wonder over alleged trade secret misuse related toLightning Roulettemust proceed via arbitration instead of litigation. Judge Cristina Silva clarified that the licensing agreement between the parties requires arbitration for such claims, rejecting Evolution’s argument that trade secret issues were exempt.
While trade secret claims move to arbitration, patent infringement accusations remain before the court. The judge deferred decisions on procedural issues, including timing, to the arbitrator.
Light & Wonder also faces ongoing litigation with Aristocrat, which alleges infringement related to its Dragon Link slot. That case is currently in discovery and expected to continue through early 2026.
