The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) confirmed that this growth was fueled primarily by soaring online gaming and sports betting revenues, even as some land-based slot segments saw minor declines.

Hollywood and Valley Forge Lead the Pack

Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course led all state casinos in June, raking in $96.4 million in revenue. This marked a 30% year-on-year increase, largely supported by strong performances in both its online operations and retail activities. Valley Forge Casino, which has become a consistent top performer in recent months, followed closely behind. The property brought in $93.5 million—up a remarkable 46.3% from June 2024.

Two other major players, Rivers Casino Philadelphia and Parx Casino, also cleared the $50 million revenue mark. Rivers reported $53.4 million, reflecting a 12.2% rise, while Parx registered $52.5 million, a 4.4% increase over the previous year.

Online Vertical Remains a Growth Engine

iGaming continued to stand out as a vital revenue stream, contributing $212.6 million to the state’s June total—an impressive 32.3% year-on-year gain. Online slots led this category with $162.2 million in revenue, up 35.9%, while online table games brought in $47.6 million, reflecting a 22.1% boost.

Online poker also posted year-on-year growth, totaling $2.7 million—an increase of 23.2%. Additionally, fantasy sports contests added another layer to digital gaming’s contribution, further solidifying the dominance of online platforms within the state’s overall gaming landscape.

Sports Betting Sees Biggest Percentage Gain

The most significant percentage increase came from sports wagering, which jumped 71.4% compared to June 2024, bringing in $51.2 million in revenue. Bettors placed a total of $483.6 million in wagers during the month—up 4.1% year-over-year—with $49.2 million of sports betting revenue coming through online platforms.

Valley Forge Casino stood out in this category as well, generating $23.2 million in revenue on a handle of $164 million. Hollywood Casino at the Meadows secured second place with $14.2 million in sports betting revenue from $132 million in wagers.

Together, these figures reflect a broader trend in Pennsylvania’s gaming sector, where digital formats and sports betting are increasingly central to revenue growth, even as traditional slot machines and table games continue to provide steady, if modest, gains.

This steady momentum highlights Pennsylvania’s successful adaptation to evolving gaming preferences, with digital channels and sports betting now key revenue pillars. As operators continue investing in online infrastructure and promotional efforts, the state’s gaming industry appears well-positioned for sustained growth, blending innovation with strong performances from established brick-and-mortar venues.
