Ontario’s regulated online gambling market reached a new milestone in November, posting its highest monthly revenue since commercial operators launched in the province. Data released by iGaming Ontario show that non-adjusted gross gaming revenue surpassed $400 million for the first time, reflecting both sustained betting activity and a notable rebound in sportsbook performance.
Players placed $9.33 billion in cash wagers during the month, establishing a new record for total handle. That figure edged past October’s $9.25 billion and stood 25% higher than the amount wagered in November 2024. While wagering volume increased modestly month over month, revenue growth accelerated at a faster pace.
Revenue Climbs Faster Than Betting Volume
Total non-adjusted gross gaming revenue reached $406.2 million in November, a 10% increase from October’s previous high of $367.7 million. Compared with the same month last year, operators generated 39% more revenue, underscoring improved margins across the market.
The number of active player accounts also reached a new peak, climbing to nearly 1.3 million. That represented a 1% increase from October and reflected growth of roughly 286,000 accounts compared with November 2024. Average revenue per active player account rose to $313, marking a 9% year-over-year increase and the strongest result since early autumn, though still below the all-time high of $332.
Sports Betting Posts Its Best Month Yet
Sports betting emerged as the standout performer in November. Sportsbooks produced $102.0 million in non-adjusted gross gaming revenue, their strongest month since Ontario opened the market to private operators in April 2022. The figure exceeded the previous record of $92 million set in January 2025 and represented a 75% increase from October.
Year over year, sports betting revenue grew 29%, reversing a trend seen earlier in the year when sportsbooks underperformed relative to 2024 in several months. Sports betting handle reached $1.25 billion, another monthly record and slightly higher than the total wagered in November last year. Similar patterns have appeared in multiple U.S. states, where operators benefited from more favorable sports results during the same period.
Casinos Remain Core of the Market
Online casino gaming continued to account for the majority of activity in Ontario. Casino wagers totaled $7.95 billion in November, representing 85% of all bets placed. Revenue from online casinos reached $298.0 million, slightly lower than October but still the primary driver of market earnings.
Although casinos dominated wagering volume, their share of total revenue declined to 73% as sports betting captured 25% of non-adjusted gross gaming revenue, its largest share since January. Peer-to-peer poker remained a small segment, generating $129 million in wagers and $6.3 million in revenue.
Since Ontario’s regulated iGaming market launched more than three and a half years ago, players have wagered over $247 billion across licensed platforms. The regulated market currently includes 48 licensed operators running 82 websites, excluding online gambling activity conducted through Ontario Lottery and Gaming platforms. November’s records were achieved despite several recent operator exits, including the closure of multiple sites by Wildz Group and the shutdown of Betiton and MagicRed Casino.
