The Social Gaming Leadership Alliance has added a major payments provider to its membership as it continues to build a broader coalition around Social Plus games. Paysafe, a global payments platform with decades of experience in digital transactions, has joined the alliance as its newest partner.
Paysafe provides payment processing, digital wallets, and online cash solutions to merchants and consumers across more than 260 payment types and 48 currencies. Its services are widely used in online entertainment and gaming, an area that closely aligns with the alliance’s focus on consumer protections and responsible play.
“Paysafe is proud to join the Social Gaming Leadership Alliance and support its work promoting safe, responsible, and innovative Social Plus games,” said Zak Cutler, President of Global Gaming at Paysafe. “As a global payments leader, we are committed to providing secure and reliable solutions that enhance player experiences while protecting the integrity of the gaming ecosystem.”
Expanding the Alliance’s Membership Base
The alliance brings together operators, service providers, and other stakeholders who support what it defines as Social Plus games, including free-to-play, freemium, and dual-currency sweepstakes offerings. Its advocacy work centers on responsible innovation and oversight, while excluding sports betting and cryptocurrency-based products.
Paysafe becomes the second payments provider within the alliance, joining Nuvei. Operator members include VGW, PlayStudios, Yellow Social Interactive, ARB Interactive, and B-Two Operations. Together, the group aims to present a unified industry position following the consolidation of the former Social and Promotional Gaming Association into the current alliance structure last year.
SGLA Managing Director Sean Ostrow said Paysafe’s arrival strengthens the group’s ability to engage lawmakers and regulators.
“Paysafe’s global payments experience strongly aligns with SGLA’s commitment to player protections and industry integrity,” Ostrow said. “The company’s technical capabilities, industry perspective and significant U.S. footprint will meaningfully support our work with policymakers and stakeholders.”
Payments Expertise Supports Policy Engagement
Alliance representatives and member companies regularly participate in legislative hearings and policy discussions involving sweepstakes and social gaming. Recent activity has included testimony in Maine and participation in panels with state lawmakers at the National Council of Legislators from Gaming States Winter Meeting in December.
The alliance believes Paysafe’s experience across regulated industries will support these efforts as states examine payment structures, consumer safeguards, and compliance standards tied to online gaming products.
Separate Partnership Expands Paysafe’s Payments Reach
Paysafe also announced a separate commercial partnership in January with payment orchestration platform Pay.com. Under the agreement, Paysafe becomes a recommended acquirer for card transactions on the Pay.com platform, which has integrated Paysafe’s Skrill and Neteller digital wallets and PaysafeCard eCash solution.
Pay.com’s technology uses centralized orchestration and risk tools to improve checkout performance. Through the partnership, merchants across sectors including e-commerce, travel, regulated iGaming, and financial services can access Paysafe’s credit and debit card processing, along with alternative payment methods.
Paysafe’s digital wallets Skrill and Neteller, which operate in more than 130 countries, are now part of Pay.com’s payment offering, alongside PaysafeCard, a voucher-based solution designed for cash-focused consumers.
Paysafe is already processing transactions for multiple Pay.com merchants, with more than 20 additional merchants expected to be onboarded by the end of 2026.
