Pennsylvania’s gaming industry saw significant growth in January 2026, with total revenue from casinos, iGaming, sports wagering, fantasy contests, and video gaming terminals reaching $590,644,755, marking an 11.6% increase compared to January 2025. The state collected $249,969,629 in tax revenue from these activities during the month.
iGaming Drives Revenue Gains
The surge in online gaming was a major factor behind the overall increase. Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course led the state in iGaming revenue, generating $96.2 million, a 20.7% increase year-over-year. Valley Forge Casino Resort followed with $67.7 million, up 16.6%, and Rivers Casino Philadelphia contributed $40.1 million, reflecting a 13.2% gain. Statewide, iGaming accounted for $249.3 million of total gaming revenue, emphasizing the growing importance of digital platforms in Pennsylvania’s gambling landscape.
Slot Machines and Table Games Performance
Slot machines across the state brought in $189.1 million, a modest 0.7% rise compared to the previous January. Parx Casino topped slot revenue at $29.2 million, although it experienced a 2.5% decline year-over-year. Wind Creek Bethlehem produced $21.1 million, down slightly by 0.7%, while Rivers Casino Pittsburgh saw an increase of 1.1%, totaling $20.8 million. These figures indicate steady performance for traditional casino gaming despite the stronger impact of online platforms.
Table games contributed to the overall total, complementing revenue from slots and online gaming. The combination of these gaming formats continues to attract a broad player base, with both physical and digital channels showing resilience amid changing player habits.
Sports Betting and Fantasy Contests
Sports wagering also played a significant role, generating $71.4 million from a handle of $782.4 million statewide. Valley Forge Casino Resort led sports betting revenue with $27.6 million from $276.3 million in wagers. Hollywood Casino at the Meadows followed with $22.7 million from a handle of $235.8 million, while Hollywood Casino York produced $5.6 million from $56.3 million in bets. These results show that sports betting remains an important contributor to total revenue, even as iGaming continues to outpace traditional channels.
Fantasy contests and video gaming terminals (“VGTs”) were also included in the reported figures, reflecting the diversity of Pennsylvania’s regulated gaming ecosystem. The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) oversees all forms of regulated gambling, ensuring compliance across both digital and land-based platforms.
Leading Casinos
Individually, Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course reported total revenue of $111.4 million for January 2026, up 20.2% from the previous year, making it the state’s top-performing casino. Valley Forge Casino Resort generated $105.8 million, an 8.2% increase, while Rivers Casino Philadelphia brought in $57.2 million, up 11.6% compared with January 2025. These results highlight the continuing growth across both major casinos and smaller operators.
The January numbers underscore the growing importance of iGaming in Pennsylvania’s gambling market and reflect steady contributions from slots, table games, sports betting, and fantasy contests.
