A donation was made to the Alameda Wildlife Conservation Park (AWCP), a wildlife sanctuary, in the amount of £6,850. AWCP is a well-known organization that provides homes for both wild and domestic animals. This reserve takes care of unwanted exotic pets as well as pets that are confiscated during customs checks.
Thanks to this giant’s donation, this resort will support its new North American turtle exhibit! The money will be invested in the renovation of the pond for these little friends, which includes running, filtered water in order to maintain the health and hygiene of the animals at a high level.
This resort boasts three species of North American turtles including snapping turtles, map turtles, and yellow-bellied sliders, which are known for being able to live for over 70 years!
Main Goal
AWCP was established with the aim of preserving some of the most endangered species of animals in nature. The company is part of several international projects that fight for the survival of these species.
Julian Jarvis, CEO at Pragmatic Play, said: “As the only wildlife park in Gibraltar, the AWCP fulfills a crucial part in the protection of rare animal species, and we’re extremely proud to be able to support the restructuring of its outdoor spaces and turtle ponds. Up to four species of the turtle will be housed in a specious pond in a prominent area of the park thanks to our donation, and we look forward to establishing new ways to support the conservation group moving forward.”
