ProgressPlay Launches Turnkey Sweepstakes Platform Amid U.S. Regulatory Shifts

By | September 15, 2025

ProgressPlay-Sweepstakes-Ready-To-Launch-1ProgressPlay has rolled out its new sweepstakes gaming platform, offering operators a fast-track entry into one of iGaming’s most scrutinized verticals. As dual-currency models face mounting restrictions in several U.S. states, the European gaming provider is focusing on expanding the format in less-regulated international markets.

The platform is being pitched as a fully integrated, ready-to-launch solution, complete with backend tools, localized hosting, and white-glove support. ProgressPlay promises a go-live timeline of weeks rather than months—positioning the product as a fast, scalable entry point for operators looking to capitalize on the sweepstakes model outside the U.S.

Built for Compliance and Conversion

A core feature of the platform is its dual-currency engine. Players use Gold Coins for entertainment and Sweeps Coins—completely unlinked from purchases—for redeemable prizes. This model, though popular, has drawn attention from regulators in the U.S. due to concerns over its similarities to real-money gambling.

To meet regulatory expectations, ProgressPlay has integrated military-grade geolocation and instant age verification. These tools help ensure operators comply with jurisdictional requirements, making the platform viable in regions with strict gaming laws.

“This launch represents far more than technological innovation,” said ProgressPlay CEO Itai Lowenstein. “We’re rewriting the rulebook on operator success in sweepstakes gaming. From content frameworks to our player retention architecture, we’re not just providing tools, we’re building long-term winning partnerships in this high-growth sector.”

U.S. Market Pressures Prompt Industry Retraction

The timing of ProgressPlay’s launch comes as U.S. states move to clamp down on sweepstakes casinos. New Jersey, Montana, and Connecticut have enacted bans targeting platforms that use dual-currency systems. In California, a sweeping measure—Assembly Bill 831—passed the state Senate 36-0 and awaits further legislative approval.

The regulatory landscape is already impacting operators and suppliers. Novig exited New Jersey after Governor Phil Murphy signed the state’s ban, while Playtech halted its sweepstakes content supply in California. Playtech stated that its U.S. sweepstakes segment accounts for just 1% of its global revenue.

Premium Content and Infrastructure at Scale

In contrast, ProgressPlay is doubling down. The platform features a growing portfolio of slot content from well-known studios like BetSoft, Pragmatic Play, and Spinomenal. New titles are added weekly to sustain user engagement.

An intelligent wallet system automates multi-currency handling, fraud prevention, and prize redemption. This back-end precision supports more than 250 operator partners globally—including 150 casino and 100 sportsbook operators—as well as collaborations with 80+ media companies.

Company Aims to Rebound from Regulatory Fines

The launch also arrives on the heels of a $1.4 million fine issued by the UK Gambling Commission in 2025, citing anti-money laundering and social responsibility lapses. A prior £290,000 penalty was issued in 2022 for similar violations. Despite this, the company continues to expand into new verticals.

ProgressPlay will present the new platform at the SBC Summit in Lisbon from September 16–18, showcasing it to potential partners at Stand B410.
