RSI and BurraPay Partner to Bring Crypto Payments to BetRivers

By | October 8, 2025

Rush Street Interactive (RSI), one of the leading online casino and sports betting operators in North America, has announced a new partnership with BurraPay to introduce cryptocurrency payments to its BetRivers platform. The agreement marks a major move toward integrating digital assets into the regulated online gaming sector.

Crypto Payments Coming to BetRivers

The partnership will enable BetRivers users to fund their accounts with cryptocurrency, offering an additional, modern payment option for players. The feature will be rolled out gradually, depending on regulatory approval in each jurisdiction where RSI operates.

BurraPay’s platform will be directly integrated into RSI’s BetRivers system. The crypto payment firm, known for its compliance-first approach, is registered with the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network as a Money Services Business.

“We are thrilled to welcome Rush Street Interactive as our first U.S. customer,” said Luke Millanta, CTO and co-founder of BurraPay. “This agreement is a milestone for both companies – and for the industry as a whole – as it proves that cryptocurrency payments can be delivered in a compliant, player-friendly, and scalable way. Rush Street Interactive has always been an innovator in online gaming, and we couldn’t ask for a better partner to showcase what BurraPay can do.”

Richard Schwartz, CEO of RSI, echoed the enthusiasm, stating, “BurraPay has demonstrated a compliance-first approach that perfectly aligns with our values and regulatory commitments. We are excited to offer our BetRivers players the flexibility to fund their accounts with cryptocurrency – an option that will enhance the overall gaming experience and reinforces our commitment to putting our players first.”

Compliance and Innovation at the Core

Earlier this year, BurraPay secured two patents from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. These patents grant the company exclusive rights for regulatory-compliant operator-controlled digital currency wallets, usable across both online and land-based gaming, including sportsbooks. These developments help ensure that BurraPay’s technology adheres to rigorous anti-money laundering (AML) and know your customer (KYC) standards.

This move comes shortly after RSI appointed Shubham Tyagi, formerly of Warner Bros. Discovery, as its new Chief Technology Officer—signaling the company’s intent to further embrace innovation in digital infrastructure.

Although the specific jurisdictions where the crypto funding feature will go live first have not been confirmed, RSI is expected to introduce it progressively across its U.S. markets, pending regulatory approvals.

BurraPay Expands Its Gaming Footprint

This partnership also marks a significant step for BurraPay in expanding its presence in North America. The company recently inked a separate agreement with Canada-based Bragg Gaming Group to integrate crypto payments into Bragg’s content and player management systems. That deal also extends to Bragg’s tribal gaming partners, broadening BurraPay’s influence in regulated gaming spaces.

To strengthen its compliance and strategic growth, BurraPay has brought on notable industry figures such as former Nevada Gaming Control Board member Phil Katsaros and veteran executive Kent Young as strategic advisors.

With both RSI and BurraPay prioritizing regulation and innovation, this collaboration could set a new standard for how crypto is integrated into licensed online gaming environments.
