Thunderkick has taken further steps to broaden its international footprint by securing new agreements in Ontario and Spain, strengthening its position in both North American and European regulated markets. The Stockholm-based slots studio announced the deals as part of a wider strategy focused on building depth in selected jurisdictions.
In Canada, Thunderkick has partnered with PointsBet in Ontario, continuing its expansion following its entry into the market 18 months ago. The agreement adds to a growing list of commercial partnerships as the studio looks to build momentum in the province.
Ontario Launch With PointsBet
PointsBet, founded in Australia in 2017, has developed a strong presence in Ontario since the province launched regulated online gaming in 2022. Through the new partnership, Thunderkick’s slot content will be added to PointsBet’s online casino platform.
The initial release includes Carnival Queen 2, Midas Golden Touch 3, and Esqueleto Explosivo 3, with further titles from Thunderkick’s portfolio expected to follow. Each launch aims to support PointsBet’s continued growth while increasing Thunderkick’s visibility among Ontario players.
PointsBet’s brand partnerships with the Toronto Raptors and Toronto Maple Leafs have helped the operator establish a strong local profile. Thunderkick expects this exposure to support its efforts to expand its reach within the province.
Svante Sahlström, CCO at Thunderkick, said: “Since its Canadian launch, PointsBet has forged relationships rooted in the country’s cultural identity, which firmly aligns with Thunderkick’s core philosophy of going deeper, not wider.
“It is a reputable and recognised brand across the globe, and we look forward to supporting its continued North American growth with our class-leading content.”
Brooke Hilton, Head of Casino at PointsBet Canada, said: “PointsBet has made a point of distinguishing itself from the crowd, from our local on-the-ground presence in Ontario to our premium online casino portfolio.
“We strive to partner with the very best, and when it comes to casino content, the addition of Thunderkick’s popular slots will enable us to continue providing players across the province with diverse, impactful gaming experiences.”
Spanish Expansion Builds on Belgian Partnership
Thunderkick has also extended its collaboration withoperator 777 into Spain, building on an earlier agreement in Belgium. The Spanish deal will see Casino777.es integrate a range of Thunderkick titles, including the full Midas Golden Touch series and the Esqueleto Explosivo games.
The 777 brand maintains a broad European presence, combining online operations with a retail partnership at Casino de Spa. Thunderkick views Spain as a priority market and expects the agreement to strengthen its regional network.
Mariam Dodosh, Key Account Manager at Thunderkick, said: “The ongoing relationship between 777 and Thunderkick in Belgium is a fruitful one, and the expansion into Spain marked the natural next step of this collaboration.
“Our content continues to drive results with operators in the market, and we look forward to seeing our fan-favourite titles resonate with a new audience at 777.es.”
César Paredes, Country Manager at 777.es, said: “We have thoroughly enjoyed working with Thunderkick, and its commitment to creativity shines through in its games.”
