Bright Star Studios, the developer of Ember Sword, the next-generation isometric open-world MMORPG, is gearing up for its highly anticipated alpha playtest. Taking place between 27 October and 29 October, it will give players an opportunity to explore the “Ultra Deep” dungeon.

While the studio has previously opened the game up to its growing community, this is the first time it has offered a dungeon experience. Operating on a first-come, first-served basis, up to four people will be matched before spawning into Ultra Deep, a natural cave labyrinth. Assigned a random character, players will need to battle through various monsters and challenges before meeting gigantic boss Shauk, whom they will need to defeat to become victorious.

The previous playtest for Ember Sword took place in April this year and received high demand worldwide with up to 15,000 players from 162 countries signing up to play. During the two-day playtest gamers gathered 120k resources, crafted 210k items, and collected more than 125k gold pieces.

Mo Fadl, Chief Product Officer of Bright Star Studios, said: “We are excited to give our growing community a glimpse of the deep world we are building. They’ve played such an important role in our journey so far and we love how engaged they’ve been. However, this is just the beginning for us. There is still so much more to come. We know they will be blown away by what we have planned for the future.”

The playtest is open to anyone with a registered Ember Sword account and will operate on a first-come first-serve basis. The servers will be open on 27 October at 13.00 CEST and close on 29 October at 23.00 CEST.
