Now the entertainment giant has a new direction in mind. One that would see their ESPN brand developed into a betting site, and deals that could translate into $3 billion for the company!
This week’s news focuses on the possibility of Disney gambling, as the company seems to believe that now is the time to get aggressive towards betting. Odd, considering that how much time, energy and money they have devoted to fighting gambling expansion for the past several years!
As recently as 2019 their CEO said that gambling was not something Disney would be involved with. However, things are changing in America, and so it seems that Mickey Mouse wants a piece of the action!
What may clear things up a bit is a recent headline, in which Disney says that their ESPN brand could become a sports book. A deal worth potentially $3 billion. The company has even stated that sports betting is the future of ESPN! So you see, Disney gambling does make sense, as any ethical objections the company may have had ended at $3 billion.
