Tornado Games has strengthened its senior management team with the appointment of industry veteran Julia Weygandt as Chief Operations Officer.
Weygandt has had a long and successful career in the global gambling sector, starting in 2005 when she joined German land-based giant the Gauselmann Group as an apprentice before becoming an executive assistant. She then moved to the Schmidt Gruppe before entering the online sector with GAMOMAT where she worked her way up to Head of International Partnerships.
She joins Tornado Games from Red Rhino Limited where she was Head of Business Development.
As Chief Operations Officer, Weygandt has been tasked with helping to take the studio from start-up to rising star by building out the team, devising effective strategies and growth plans, assessing and fine-tuning internal processes and leading the company into new jurisdictions.
Thaluana Muscat, Head of Sales at Tornado Games, said: “All journeys begin with a single step but today we are taking a giant leap forward by welcoming Julia to the team as our new Chief Operations Officer.
“She brings a wealth of experience, passion and vision to the team and we are thrilled to have her on board. Tornado Games is the new kid on the block, but we have ambitious plans to make our mark on the sector by developing games that players want to play. That someone of Julia’s calibre wants to join the business is a testament to our vision and the progress we have already made.”
Julia Weygandt, Chief Operations Officer at Tornado Games, said: “I am so excited to join Tornado Games and to be working alongside such an incredible team. The studio is already blazing a trail, but the best is yet to come, and I’m honoured to be playing a part in plotting the journey we will take from start-up to reaching our ultimate goal of being a major player in the slot provision space.
“Our roadmap is frankly awesome, and you’ll be hearing much more from Tornado Games over the coming months as we release new games and announce operator partnerships in markets across Europe and beyond.”
