Investment company pays for emergency repairs to support van used by women’s refuge in Malta
The VentureMax Group has stepped in to help the Dar Merħba Bik Foundation in Malta by funding vital repairs to its support van.
Dar Merħba Bik provides safe, secure and therapeutic emergency accommodation for women and their children who have been subject to violence, often in the form of domestic abuse. The foundation helps them get back on their feet and achieve their full potential, both domestically and at work.
The VentureMax Group provided financial support for repairs to the shelter’s van, used for transporting the belongings of the women and children who need to be moved away from their vulnerable living situation and into Dar Merħba Bik’s secure shelter.
All the van’s tyres were badly worn and the arm mechanism on the back door did not work, meaning it had to be propped up with a broomstick. Rust was spreading on the bodywork and the passenger door window was stuck fully open, with only a sheet of plastic in place instead of glass.
The VentureMax Group, whose divisions include TerraMedia, Xciting and VentureMax, plans to offer additional support to local charities, foundations and organisations for the foreseeable future, as part of its ongoing commitment to its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme.
Justin Anastasi, CEO of VentureMax Group, said: “We want to play an active role in supporting foundations, charities and organisations across our local community and I couldn’t think of a better group to start this activity with than Dar Merħba Bik.
“The foundation does great work helping vulnerable women and children and this vehicle is an important part of that. This is just the start of our CSR work in Malta, and we look forward to helping many more people in future.”
A spokeswoman for Dar Merħba Bik added: “It’s very important for us to have a full-working van so we can move women, their children and possessions safely and with dignity into our shelter.
“We thank VentureMax from the bottom of our hearts for their help in sponsoring the urgent repairs to our van.”
