Yggdrasil adds to YGG Masters roster with Slightly Edgy adopting next-generation Game in a Box™ technology

Yggdrasil has welcomed Slightly Edgy, a next-generation challenger studio, into its acclaimed YGG Masters program, with the studio also becoming a key pilot partner for Game in a Box™, Yggdrasil’s breakthrough game development tool.

Built for the digital-native player, Slightly Edgy creates slot experiences defined by Velocity, Respect the Player, and Break the Pattern, three values that reject repetition and embrace a faster, sharper, more intentional form of slot gameplay.

Slightly Edgy’s content portfolio is rooted in the preferences of digital-native slot players, tapping into this demographics demand for high-volatility, fast-paced, creator-led studios worldwide. Slightly Edgy’s design philosophy delivers exactly that, with games built around sleek dark-mode aesthetics, bold interfaces, inventive mechanics, and the kind of adrenaline-charged moments players share with their communities.

As a Game in a Box™ pilot studio, Slightly Edgy will help shape how the framework empowers challenger brands through streamlining development, simplifying integration, and allowing studios to focus on creativity instead of constraints.

Slightly Edgy’s first title as part of the YGG Masters program, Toothless Smile, will launch in March 2026, fully created with the Game in a Box™ technology.

Zoe Bird, Head of Masters at Yggdrasil, said: “Slightly Edgy has a brand identity and player insight that perfectly fits where the industry is heading.

“Their ‘break the pattern’ ethos aligns beautifully with what Game in a Box™ was built to unlock, and we can’t wait to work closely with them to boost their success.”

A spokesperson for Slightly Edgy added: Velocity is everything. Players don’t want to wait, and neither do we. Game in a Box™ gives us the speed and freedom to build the kind of games we believe the market is missing.

“We respect the player, we don’t waste their time, and we never settle for copy-paste mechanics. If it doesn’t break the pattern, we’re not making it.”
