Multinational betting firm 1xBet has added more prominent fixtures to its already stacked roster of sports sponsor partners.
This week, the company partnered with Gowran Park, a historic Irish racecourse, coming off the back of a series of sports deals.
The Gowran Park partnership comes amid a major regulatory shift in Ireland, with a new authority taking charge of the market – the Gambling Regulatory Authority of Ireland (GRAI).
Ireland remains a major market, one of the 30 biggest globally. Horse racing is also a core betting product within it, with over a million people attending 390 fixtures last year according to Horse Racing Ireland (HRI).
“We are delighted to partner with Eddie and his team at Gowran Park as we continue to strengthen our presence within Irish racing,” said Ian Langstaff, 1xBet Ireland representative.
“Gowran Park is a racecourse with a proud history and an outstanding reputation, making it an ideal partner for 1xBet Ireland.”
Langstaff continued: “This partnership allows us to further support Irish racing, the people who work within the industry, and one of Ireland’s most respected racecourses.
“We look forward to a successful relationship with Gowran Park over the coming seasons.”
1xBet backs all levels of Gowran Park racing
1xBet is no stranger to working with Irish racing, the firm having worked with Punchestown and Curragh racecourses. The company is licensed in Ireland as Terminus Platform Ireland Limited, holding a Remote Bookmakers Licence.
The firm’s partnership with Gowran Park commenced on 7 August, with the full duration of the deal seeing its branding displayed across 15 National Hunt and flat races over the next 12 months.
As well as races, it will also sponsor the Owners’ Lounge and Stable Yard canteen.
“We are absolutely delighted to welcome 1xBet Ireland as a major new partner of Gowran Park,” said Eddie Scally, General Manager of Gowan Park.
“Their commitment to sponsoring 15 races over the coming year, together with their support of both our Owners’ Lounge and Stable Yard Canteen, demonstrates a genuine investment in Irish racing and the people who make our industry so special.
“What particularly impressed us was 1xBet Ireland’s desire to support not only our race programme, but also the facilities used by owners, trainers, stable staff and racing professionals throughout the year.
“It is particularly encouraging to see a company that has already shown its support through partnerships with Punchestown and The Curragh continuing to invest in the sport. We look forward to working closely with the 1xBet Ireland team over the coming year.”
Outside of racing, 1xBet has also extended its deal with the Dallas Open, an ATP 500 tennis tournament, with both this and the Gowran Park deal following on from a partnership with UFC fighter Conor McGregor ahead of his return to the Octagon earlier this month.
