bet365 announces Alberta launch alongside CFL partnership as market opens

By | July 13, 2026

UK gambling giant bet365 has confirmed its participation in Alberta’s iGaming market as the operator continues to expand its regulated presence across Canada.

The launch will extend bet365’s Canadian operations beyond Ontario, with Alberta customers gaining access to the operator’s sportsbook and online casino products.

It becomes one of several European players to launch in Alberta’s newly-established gambling market, which went live today (13 July).

As many as 70 operator sites have expressed interest in being in the market, with the Alberta iGaming Corporation set to publish a definitive list of active operators later today.

Among the European players set to launch in Alberta are:

  • Entain – through Sports Interaction and PartyCasino
  • evoke, through 888 Casino
  • TonyBet
  • Super Group – through Betway, Jackpot City, Royal Vegas, Ruby Fortune and Spin Casino
  • BetVictor

It was confirmed that bet365 was among a number of companies, including Caesars Entertainment, DraftKings, PENN Entertainment and Rush Street Interactive, live and taking bets by 7:00am MT.

DAZN Bet has confirmed that it has officially launched in Alberta too, offering residents “a sportsbook customised to local preferences along with a growing casino experience featuring popular games, live  casino, slots, and table games”.

“Alberta is an important milestone for DAZN Bet and a province where players expect  a distinctly local experience, integrity, and compliance,” said Richard Rawlinson, Managing Director of DAZN Bet Canada. “We are combining the strength of a global  sports entertainment brand with a product built for Alberta players. Our focus is on a  responsible growth, strong regulatory alignment, and an authentic Canadian gaming  experience for customers throughout the province.”

It means DAZN Bet is now active across two Canadian provinces, having launched in Ontario late last month.

bet365’s sports betting offering will include live betting, Early Payout and the Sub On Play On promotion, which transfers selected player prop bets to a substitute when the original player is replaced – offers it has released in many of its markets thus far.

Sub On Play On generated approximately £30m in payouts globally during the first 10 days of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Trip Stoddard, Head of Development at bet365, said: “Canada is a key market for bet365, and cementing our brand’s presence in Alberta marks another milestone in our long-term commitment to Canadian sports fans.

“We’re proud to work alongside Alberta’s regulators to give fans a trusted platform to engage with the sports they love through a responsible, world-class experience.”

bet365 cements Alberta launch with CFL deal

Alongside its Alberta expansion, bet365 has agreed a partnership with the Canadian Football League (CFL), becoming an official sports betting and online casino partner of the league in Ontario and Alberta.

The agreement will see bet365 feature across CFL content, broadcast-visible media, digital storytelling and selected fan activations during the season.

The partnership comes ahead of the 113th Grey Cup, which is scheduled to take place in Calgary on 15 November 2026.

It is no surprise that bet365 has launched in the province to compete with a wide range of operators as well as the government-owned Play Alberta platform.

The UK-headquartered firm has become one of a small few from these shores to find success in North America.

bet365 is currently live across 17 US states, and its abovementioned presence in Ontario means that it may already be somewhat familiar to Canadian residents.

All eyes will be on Alberta both today and in the coming weeks, and it seems bet365 may have beaten a few competitors to the punch as the market goes live.
