Betway has reiterated its commitment to the esports and esports betting sectors, launching its latest Counter Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) tournament – the ‘Battle of Betway’.

The Super Group-owned online bookmaker has scheduled the competition to take place on 26 October, before the CS:GO Stockholm Major tournament.

Featuring a best-of-one (BO1) format, teams involved will include BIG, NiP, MIBR, G2, and FURIA, whilst Alexandre ‘Gaules’ Borba, Anders Blume and Auguste ‘Semmler’ Massonnat will also appear for broadcasting.

Admin Savinson, Esports Director of BG Marketing Services, said on behalf of Betway: “Battle of Betway is our most ambitious CS:GO sponsorship activation to date; bringing together our teams from around the world to compete against each other in an epic Betway tournament.

“Occurring just before the long-awaited Stockholm Major, this is the last opportunity for every CS:GO fan to see their favourite teams face off before battling for the top prize of the year.”

Betway has established a strong presence in esports, as the sector continues to attract interest from the traditional sports betting space.

The Malta and Guernsey-based operator has struck partnerships with several prominent esports organisations, including the aforementioned MIBR, G2 and FURIA teams, in addition to the PSG.LGD Dota 2 team.

“It’s great to see our partners at Betway doing this Battle of Betway show,” said Carlos ‘Ocelote’ Rodríguez Santiago, CEO of G2. “This will definitely bring the teams together as part of the Betway family and I look forward to seeing them.”
