Digitain expands UK presence through Silkbet partnership

Technology provider Digitain has expanded its UK presence by partnering with Silkbet, bringing its technology, sportsbook and iGaming solutions to the challenger brand.

It comes as Silkbet looks to make a name for itself in what has become a challenging market to navigate, after securing the relevant licenses in May this year.

Armenia-headquartered Digitain will provide Silkbet with a full turnkey solution for its UK online operations, as the operator looks to combat challenges including new tax rises, stricter KYC restrictions and a burgeoning black market.

Silkbet is looking to bring back the original feeling of excitement around UK betting, which its Chief Executive Officer Ed Kelly believes is “something valuable lost along the way”.

“We are incredibly proud to partner with Digitain as we take this exciting step into the UK market. While the UK betting industry has evolved significantly over the past decade, we believe something valuable has been lost along the way,” said Kelly.

“The early years of online betting were defined by excitement, personality and a genuine focus on the customer. Our ambition is not to recreate the past, but to bring those qualities into a modern betting experience built for today’s player.

“Silkbet has been created to offer a fresh alternative, combining the agility and customer focus of a boutique operator with the ability to scale. We believe customers are looking for a bookmaker that feels more responsive, engaging and connected.

“By pairing Silkbet’s entrepreneurial approach with Digitain’s powerful technology, we’re creating a business that can innovate quickly, listen closely to customers and deliver an experience that stands apart from larger, more corporate operators. We’re excited to enter the UK market and bring new energy, personality and customer focus to online betting.”

More European progress for Digitain

For Digitain, it continues a successful few months of ramping up its operations throughout Europe.

The business has secured deals in the Balkan countries of Bulgaria and Serbia so far this year, and it has also partnered with Romania’s WINBET

Digitain’s Chief Commercial Officer for Europe and Africa, Dario Jurčić, recently revealed to SBC News more details about the firm’s expansion throughout those two continents, describing them as two regions with “enormous potential”.

On this deal, Jurčić commented: “Our continued expansion across Europe is a key part of Digitain’s commercial strategy, and partnerships such as this demonstrate the strength of our approach.

“Being able to support operators in highly competitive regulated markets such as the UK with proven technology and comprehensive solutions is an important differentiator for us.

“The partnership with Silkbet is another significant step in our European growth journey, and we look forward to creating long-term value together.”
