Domenico Mazzola confirmed his departure from Altenar this week, as the firm’s Commercial Director takes up a new position at innovation platform Flows.
The outgoing senior team member held his position at sportsbook solutions developer Altenar for four years and 11 months, initially taking up the role in September 2017.
Mazzola’s tenure at Altenar oversaw a contribution to ‘build, form and positively influence’ the company’s commercial team – as described by the firm in a Linkedin post – whilst also coordinating a range of partnerships and market launches.
“I leave a company that started as one of many sportsbook suppliers in the market, and is now an award winning solution with one of the best products, talented people and especially customer support among all the sportsbook suppliers,” Mazzola remarked in a video update.
“I can say all these things even louder today because I will not be selling this sportsbook anymore. WHen I started, Altenar was serving customers in a few countries, and today we have reached the point where it is easy to say where we don’t serve operators.”
Whilst Mazzola was Commercial Director at Altenar, the firm entered into supply agreements with several prominent sports betting incumbents, such as Colombian sportsbook Vinnare Group in May of this year.
In an interview with SBC News the month prior, Mazzola offered insights into Altenar’s commercial plans for 2022, identifying Italy, Spain, the UK and South America as key markets targeted for expansion.
Providing some future outlook for Altenar as he departed the firm, the outgoing sales lead described the company as ‘stronger than ever’, adding that there will be some ‘very nice partnerships’ announced in the coming months.
After calling time on his career with Altenar, Mazzola has now joined Flows as Director of Sales, where he will be work to leverage his eight years experience in igaming sales, business development, commercial strategy and software development – as well as an additional six years in other industries.
“The first time I had the opportunity to see Flows, I immediately saw its potential, and I strongly wanted to be part of it,” Mazzola commented.
“After a couple of discussions with James and the other group members, I realised the team’s strength. I look forward to helping the company succeed in expanding its customer base and product adoption.”
Flows detailed that the appointment of Mazzola forms part of the company’s wider strategic plans to ‘supercharge growth’ over the coming year, which will also include planned product releases and an expansion of its client base.
The new Director of Sales is the second major hire Flows has made in as many months, foll;owing the hiring of Rhea Craib as Head of Marketing at the igaming technology company in June.
