Esports platform GameScorekeeper has announced Transient as its latest partner in a collaboration aimed at introducing esports data to the blockchain community.

The agreement will see Transient offer GameScorekeeper’s esports data to enable its blockchain users to create their own betting markets and compete in the esports wagering industry.

In addition to aiming match and tournament data in order to inform development of automated markets and settlements, GameScorekeeper also intends to offer its portfolio of content driven data including player statistics and stream URLs to appeal to as wide a demographic of esports followers as possible.

“We’re delighted to be working with such an experienced team and exciting business,” said Marc Burroughes, CCO of GameScorekeeper.

“Transient is developing a very interesting product which we’re confident will be a great success and as with all our customers, we’re committed to supporting them every step of the way.”

In providing its esports data to Transient, GameScorekeeper aims to support the firm’s Esports App as a product which has ‘never been done before by any other blockchain related project’.

Beau Olson, CEO of Transient, added: “Transient is excited to take another significant step in its journey into the gaming and esports community by partnering with leading esports data provider GameScorekeeper. This partnership is critical to enabling our esports app (currently in development) to provide an expansive offering to our community.”

GameScorekeeper has outlined an approach to creating an ‘entertainment-first’ approach to esports wagering, with the company’s Founder and CEO, Felix Kalstrup, explaining to SBC last month that “the future of esports betting will be a very different experience from the traditional format you see today”.

He continued: “Esports fans are different, they have grown up with and are used to having social and entertaining technology available at the click of a button. Creating a truly entertaining experience first, where fans can immerse themselves in a dedicated esports space with like minded people will draw in the numbers.

“In our opinion betting will be a subtle and secondary option in this environment but it will also be better tailored to the esports fans, such as providing specialist player proposition and micro markets.”
