Gaming technology firm GR8 Tech is moving to prepare casinos for the World Cup by adding another layer to its customer retention tools and strategy.

The World Cup is widely recognised as one of the biggest customer acquisition, activation and retention opportunities for sports betting companies, but GR8 Tech believes its potential for casino acquisition is unappreciated.

GR8 Tech has been ‘preparing its casino vertical accordingly’, the firm states, having upgraded its bonuses, tournaments, content delivery, and provider integrations to promote casino content during the sports betting-heavy tournament.

There’s big business in casino customers for GR8 Tech, with the firm maintaining a partner network of over 200 casino companies. The firm believes that casino firms are positioned to benefit greatly from the surge in traffic around the World Cup, with a little help.

“A World Cup can bring a lot of new traffic, but that traffic only matters if you give players a reason to stay,” said Lusine Khudaverdyan, Head of Casino at GR8 Tech.

“For casino, that means more flexible bonuses, engaging tournaments, strong content coverage, and provider features that help operators convert interest into repeat play.”

Regarding the specifics, GR8 Tech has upgraded its bonus and tournament mechanics, enhanced product-level wagering around bonuses, and updated its tournaments to allow operators to use the same game across multiple parallel tournaments.

The development comes just a couple of weeks after GR8 Tech initiated upgrades to its ULTIM8 Sportsbook ahead of the World Cup, such as enhancing the betting platform’s widget-based architecture and separating live and pre-match flows.

Dinos Doxiadis, Head of Sportsbook Business at GR8 Tech, commented at the time: “The World Cup will move a lot of money regardless of what any single operator does. The real question is how much of it sticks.”
