NetBet has become the latest international operator to enter the Greek market, having secured sports betting, casino and poker licences from the Hellenic Gaming Commission (HGC).
The newly issued licences will be valid for a seven-year period, enabling NetBet to cover thousands of sports markets per month as well as launch its four thousand casino titles in the sector, including the most updated and popular slot releases.
“We are excited that the Hellenic Gaming Commission granted NetBet Enterprises with these two new licences,” said Gabriella Arnatu, CEO of etBet Enterprises.
“For over 20 years we have delivered the best sports betting and online casino experience to our players across the world and we are looking forward to growing our footprint in Greece.”
NetBet has also announced a responsible gambling commitment to its new Greek customers, with a strong focus on player safety, whilst also leveraging ‘state-of-the-art’ encryption security software.
In addition to Greece, the firm is active in a number of other regulated European markets, including its home UK market, Ireland, France, Italy and Romania, holding a 10-year class 1 licence in the latter.
A UK-based bookmaker, NetBet became the first British gambling operator to accept Bitcoin as a means of payment for both sportsbook and casino products in 2016, payable into customer’s accounts using the Neteller and PaySafe payment platforms.
In the same year, the firm was honoured with the ‘European Sports Betting Operator of the Year’ award at the inaugural Central & Eastern European Gaming Awards (CEEGA), edging out competitors Unibet and Sportingbet due to its multi-European market expansion strategy and focus on localised operations and customer service.
