Paddy Power is set to make its ‘longform’ TV debut, launching its self-produced sitcom ‘The VAR Room’, on Virgin Media and Amazon Prime video streaming platforms.
A four-part series, The VAR Rooom takes a tongue-in-cheek look at what really happens behind the scenes at Stockley Park – the home of VAR in England.
The sitcom features a star-studded line up with guest appearances from former Premier League referee, Mark Clattenburg, as well as football legends Teddy Sheringham, Paul Ince and Alan Curbishley.
Expanding beyond its regular content production for the bookie’s own social media channels, the 23-minute show will make its debut on national television on Ireland’s Virgin Media Two, starting tonight (16th June) at 10:30 pm, and continuing for the next three consecutive Wednesdays.
The VAR Room is the second comedy sitcom outing produced by Paddy Power, who last year debuted its mini-series ‘The Mascot’ – following the trials and tribulations of disgraced Basildon Athletic matchday mascot Frank the Tank.
Paddy Power’s new sitcom will also be available online via the bookmaker’s YouTube channel, and is set to be streamed on Amazon Prime later this month.
