Sportingtech appoints Bobby Longhurst as MD in executive overhaul

Bobby Longhurst has joined Sportingtech in the role of Managing Director (MD), as the company seeks to consolidate its presence in existing markets whilst targeting new sectors.

The Malta-based full service betting and gaming solutions provider has detailed ‘ambitious plans’ to expand its global reach, targeting emerging and regulated markets, including lotteries.

In pursuit of this objective, Sportingtech has initiated an executive overhaul which has not only seen Longhurst take the reins as MD, but also Colin McDonagh join as Chief Sales Officer, Daniel Stone as Head of Marketing and Anthony Murphy as Head of Commercial Account Management.

Longhurst said: “I am delighted to be joining Sportingtech at such an exciting time in its development, as I believe we have a great opportunity to make a real impact in the industry.

“We have a very talented team in place and I’m very pleased that we can add some further management experience to it, to build upon the success the company has enjoyed to date.

Longhurst’s experience in betting and igaming has included tenures as Chief Commercial Officer at Pronet Gaming, Commercial Director at SBTech (now DraftKings) and Business Development Manager at Sporting Solutions.

The expansion plans overseen by Longhurst and his colleagues, Sportingtech explained, will build on pre-existing operations across global betting and gaming markets, such as in Latin America, where its Quantum platform is in use by a ‘wide range’ of operators.

For example, earlier this year Pariplay entered into an agreement with the company to distribute its content in the region, as well as in Europe.

“The Quantum platform is constantly evolving to meet the needs of the most ambitious operators and we look forward to showcasing it in the coming weeks and months,” Longhurst continued.
