Sportradar has confirmed the appointment of Jim Brown as its Head of Integrity Services & Harm Prevention in North America, as the company continues to consolidate its regional position.

Based in the US, Brown will report to Sportradar Integrity Services’ Managing Director Andreas Krannich, whilst leveraging his experience in risk management, strategy development, business process evaluation and design and sports wagering risk mitigation.

He joins the Swiss-based sports technology and data firm as the company continues to strengthen its standing in the North American sports and sports wagering market, having secured agreements with several major tournaments and teams, and listed on the US Nasdaq stock exchange in the second half of last year as SRAD.

“As new sports betting markets open up across the US. the need for robust and resilient integrity services has never been greater,” Brown remarked.

“Sportradar sets the standard in our industry and I’m excited to join the team to lead the development of existing and new offerings that will both protect the integrity of competitions as well as safeguard the well-being of athletes.”

Brown most recently served as Managing Director of Enterprise Risk Management at the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), one of various risk management roles at the collegiate athletics organisation over the past eight years.

This assignment saw him work on management of the organisation’s sports wagering risk mitigation policy, involving integrity-related monitoring of 12,500 games annually, well-being education of 550,000 student athletes and background check and review measures of 19,000 game officials.

In addition to his most recent position at the NCAA, Brown has also served as Director of Internal Audit and Quality at Anthem Inc and has held roles at CNO Financial Group and Ernst & Young LLP, following four years service in the US Marine Corps.

Welcoming Brown to the company, Andreas Krannich said: “Integrity is not a check-the-box exercise, but a complex strategic service that blends process, regulation and education and is driven by technology.

“Jim has a proven track record in bringing these elements to life with great success and notable impact and we’re thrilled to bring him aboard.”
