Stats Perform has added the Football Association of Moldova (FMF) into its client portfolio as part of a new two-year agreement aimed at safeguarding sporting integrity in the country.

The sports analytics firm will analyse and monitor all fixtures in the Modolovian top-flight Divizia Națională, in order to identify and counter potential match-fixing and sporting corruption.

Leveraging AI and technology, Stats Perform will work to provide a combined service incorporating monitoring of betting markets, global intelligence gathering and performance integrity analysis to better safeguard the football infrastructure in Moldova.

“We are delighted FMF have chosen Stats Perform’s unique integration of betting markets monitoring, intelligence and Opta-powered performance analysis to support their integrity programme,” said Jake Marsh, Global Head of Integrity at Stats Perform.

“This agreement shows the importance FMF place in ensuring the integrity of their competitions, and we look forward to working with them in a successful partnership.”

Additionally, the company will also utilise its Performance Integrity Analysis (PIA) as a core part of the services provided to the FMF.

Launched earlier this year, the PIA capacity merges performance data gathering, video capture and sports analysis to enable sporting officials to easily evaluate and assess in-play events.

The service has been used by the he Council of Europe’s ‘Working Group on Sports Integrity’, whilst Stats Perform has also formed integrity partnerships with German Bundesliga club Bayer 04 Leverkusen, the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) and the European Handball Federation (EHF).

Commenting on the new partnership, Eugen Zubic, Head of FMF Integrity Department, added: “Football is the most loved and practiced game in the world and our mission is to protect this sport from any threat.

“That is why it is crucial for FMF to use the services of Stats Perform, one the biggest international and expert companies in betting and performance analysis, in the form of reports that are extremely necessary in the match-fixing disciplinary investigation phase.

“Only together, the whole football community, can stop the corruption in football by informing, raising awareness and condemning match fixing.”
